AUDRA TRISKA

Audra Triska is Director at John Robert Powers Pleasanton. She has over 8+ years experience in teaching acting/drama and the creative arts. Audra moved to Los Angeles in 1996 to pursue her education and career in the Theatre Arts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Cal State University in Northridge. While attending college and pursuing her acting/singing career she became involved in numerous theatre outreach groups.  She played a principal role in a play called “Not Here”, the play toured around the United States in 1999 and 2000. The play dealt with issues of gangs, racism, drugs, and youth violence and was part of an arts education program sponsored by the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws - a non-profit organization working with governors, state attorney generals, judges, law enforcement, treatment professionals, and recovering addicts to evaluate current drug policies. Audra also worked with a group in Los Angeles called “United Colors”, an outreach program whose goal was to bring arts education to inner city and urban teens.  She was on of a very few people at Cal State Northridge to be invited to participate in a special workshop taught by Augusto Boal.  Mr. Boal was a 2008 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and is a pioneer of “interactive” and “activist” theatre. Audra has also acted in many musical theatre and live stage productions, as a singer she has performed in numerous venues in Los Angeles and the San Francisco bay area. She is very proud to be involved with the program at John Robert Powers, which she believes teaches an excellent model of success for anyone pursuing a career inside and/or outside of the entertainment industry.
